Shapeshifter at Wellington Town Hall

With a sound system made for 20,000 people, the Town Hall was pumping! Such an incredible night. I haven't photographed Shapeshifter live for a while so it was an honour to be invited along to document all parts of the show. PAT

Afternoon Raj

Afternoon Raj rocked Watusi Bar lastnight. Such a good gig!

Good Karma Project Documentary

I'm stoked to let you all know that the documentary about the project is now live and online! Thanks to the skills of Jason Naran on the editing front, we have a great visual story of the trip!

The Good Karma Project

Christmas 2009 was a little different from usual. I spent six weeks on the Thai/Burma border working on a project founded by myself and my good friend, Josh. We named it 'The Good Karma Project' and it saw us teaching photography and art to children who have fled the oppression of Burma for a safer life in Thailand. We worked with New Zealand charity, Children On The Edge, and focused on migrant schools that are fully funded by donations from the New Zealand public.

We learnt so much about the situation through the children and other volunteers we spent time with. Below are a selection of images taken over the six weeks. The Good Karma exhibition and magazine both launch on the 1st April. I look forward to keeping you posted with more news closer to the time. A huge thanks goes out to all those who supported us with donations and of course to the sponsors who supplied us with the gear we needed to make the project happen.

BURMESE INDEPENDENCE DAY – January 4th

The Wailers

Friday evening was the night for Wellington music fans to pull out their best Rasta style threads, as the legendary Wailers were in town! It was one huge sing-along with the band performing all the stunning songs from 'Exodus'. Those songs even carried on for the train journey home with all passengers cranking out a slightly drunken 'No Woman, No Cry'. What a night!

Fat Freddy's Drop

Fat Freddy's gig at the Frontroom really shook those skeletons out of the closet! The Halloween gig saw the band warm up the room with their ass shaking antics. The constant fogging of my lens was a sign that I should have been dancing, rather than snapping! Glad I kept snapping though as the lighting provided some awesome Kodak moments!

Little Bushman and NZSO

Little Bushman live with NZSO was the second orchestral collaboration I have photographed for the Bushies. The evening was a beautiful journey through sound that really made your skin tingle. Great work guys!

DJ Skitz and Deadly Hunta

DJ Skitz and Deadly Hunta rock! Hunta's back freaked out on him 30 mins before he was due on stage and he couldn't move. We had to call an ambulance to check him out, they said he wouldn't be performing again for weeks, yet an hour later he was up on stage rocking the San Fran Bathhouse, incredible!

Fly My Pretties 3

Wow! What an incredible show it was. Huge congrats to everybody involved!
